State-of-the-art Design Pattern Approaches— An Overview

Design patterns are considered as means to capture and communicate already proven and matured object-oriented design so that building reusable object-oriented software does not always have to start from scratch. There exists no standardization of the term design pattern in the realm of object-oriented software development. This paper makes an effort to define this vague term by giving an overview of relevant state-of-the-art approaches.
